SIC Forensic Falcons Win Gold at Regionals

March 23, 2015

Southeastern Illinois College’s Forensic Falcons ended their regular tournament season with huge success on Saturday, March 21 earning Gold at the Region IV Tournament held at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Illinois.  Every member of the SIC speech team earned an award and, once again, proved that quality outweighs quantity.

Jenny Billman, Forensics Coach, notes that the team has had to overcome setbacks this season due to winter weather and tournament cancellations, but has maintained work ethic and passion to finish their regular tournament season strong.

The team will perform some of their award-winning speeches for the public on April 2 at 7 p.m. in the George T. Dennis Visual & Performing Arts Center at SIC, as part of SIC’s annual “Night Before Nationals” event. Tickets are available for a $5 minimum donation and can be purchased in SIC’s VPAC lobby prior to the show.  Proceeds will help with travel costs for the team’s national Phi Rho Pi tournament April 6-11 in Cleveland, OH.
