SIC is now offering FREE HSE (GED) test preparation classes!
Classes are designed to help you prepare for the GED test modules in English, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
If you are located in the SIC district, you will receive a box of helpful study materials when you register for a class.

Free Adult Education Healthcare Bridge
This Adult Education Healthcare Bridge course will allow hands-on and classroom education for students interested in transitioning into a health-related career, certification program, or post-secondary education degree program.
Course topics include, but are not limited to:
- Medical Terminology
- The Human body
- Employment Strategies in Healthcare
- Basic Skills

GED Testing
GED Testing
The GED test is divided into four sections: English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. You can take them one at a time or all at once – whatever your preference. Test dates are generally available every few weeks, giving you time to study until you feel ready. We highly recommend the free classes to help you prepare!
Location: GED testing is held in room A-144a on SIC’s Harrisburg campus: 3575 College Rd.
Cost: The testing fee is $30 per module ($120 total). Fees may be paid online by debit, credit card or voucher purchased from the Regional Office of Education. Testing fees do not include the cost of the Illinois High School Equivalence Certificate ($10)/ Official Transcript ($3).
Note: Testers under 18 must send a withdrawal letter from the last high school attended to ICCB (Illinois Community College Board) via email at hse@illinois.gov or fax to 217-558-6700.
