FAQ
Fall scholarships are applied in September and Spring scholarships are applied in February.
Most scholarships can be used for books, but it is dependent upon the donor and your specific scholarship award letter. The Foundation applies scholarships to tuition and fees first and then books.
You need to schedule a time with Adriana Armstrong to pick up your book voucher. You can contact her at (618) 252.5400 ext. 2104 or a.armstrong@sic.edu. If Adriana is away from her desk or with a student when you call, please leave her a voicemail with your name, phone number, and student ID number.
No it is not the same. Your Pell voucher comes from the Financial Aid Office, and it is deducted from your Pell Grant. The SIC Foundation does not have any records for your Pell Grant. You need a separate voucher from the Foundation for your Foundation scholarships.
In most cases it doesn’t affect you. If you have an SIC full academic scholarship that pays for all of your tuition and fees, then it is important that you use your Foundation book voucher so that you can use your scholarship.
Most scholarships are applied to your account. However, there are some donors that do allow scholarships to be used for educational expenses outside of tuition and fees. This would usually be specified in your award letter from the donor. This does not mean that you will receive a check for the award amount; you might get a book or meal card.
If your scholarship can be used for a meal card, then you need to schedule a time with Adriana Armstrong to pick up your meal card voucher. You can contact her at (618) 252.5400 ext. 2104 or a.armstrong@sic.edu. If Adriana is away from her desk or with a student when you call, please leave her a voicemail with your name, phone number, and student ID number.
