Dennis VPAC Gallery (F202) | Vision Quests - The Donated Works of Charles Hammond | Hammond taught photography at SIC for many years and has had many shows in the tristate area. He has also restored and reprinted photographs of historical importance to the area and has been published in various books about the southern Illinois area. |
June 1 - September 12, 2021 Closing Reception: September 12, 1-2 p.m. | Hise Museum | Marion & Christy Poggas Exhibits Main Gallery: An Intimate Portrait of Southern Illinois West Gallery: Freedom to Travel | Marion is known for photography while his wife Christy uses an array of media including graphite, ink, watercolor, colored pencils, markers and oil paint. Christy has also expanded her artistic interests to include basketry, jewelry and Oriental Sumi e painting. The Poggas’ works blend together beautifully to showcase both their views of southern Illinois and their travels. Their exhibits will run concurrently with An Intimate Portrait of Southern Illinois being shown in the main gallery, while Freedom to Travel is being displayed in the museum’s west gallery. |
October 10 - December 5, 2021 Reception: December 5, 2-3 p.m. | Hise Museum Main Gallery | 3D Art Exhibit | This multi-artist exhibit will showcase a variety of 3-Dimensional works of all subject matters from metal works, to sculptures, to 3D paintings and more. |
October 10 - December 5, 2021 Reception: December 5, 2-3 p.m. | Hise Museum West Gallery | Coal Country Exhibit | So many towns in our region were built on the back of coal. Generation after generation of coal miners have lived and tunneled their way through this area. This multi-artist, multi-media exhibit in the museum’s west gallery will examine the rich culture of coal in our region, and the people who call this way of life “home”. |
January 4 - March 3, 2022 Reception: Feb. 6, 2-3 p.m. | Hise Museum Main and West Galleries | Celebrate Regional Artists Exhibit | This multi-artist exhibition will bring together an array of works of many different mediums. Come celebrate the talent our region has to offer! |
April 3 - June 17, 2022 Reception: June 5 at 2 p.m. | Hise Museum Main Gallery | Works of Nature Exhibit | This region is known for its natural beauty, and this exhibit will showcase just that, the beauty of nature. This multi-artist, multi-media show held in the museum’s main gallery will host works that are made of, made for, and visually represent nature. |
