Academic Advisor for Veterans and International Students

Full-time academic advisor position responsible for advising undecided, prospective and enrolled students in course selection and academic program planning consistent with each student’s interests and abilities. Responsible for understanding and articulating to students the academic options and requirements of the college; working closely with faculty and other academic support personnel to assist the students in their choice of major; and assisting with new student orientation sessions, dual credit, online advisement, recruitment, and retention efforts. This position will serve as the primary Veteran’s and International Student Advisor responsible for providing academic advising. This position will provide ADA coordination for the achievement of academic goals. This position also requires a three credit hour per semester (fall and spring) teaching assignment in college-level English/Communication.  This is a security sensitive position.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in relevant field is required as well as required credentials for instruction of college-level English/Communication. Experience in higher education academic advisement is preferred with knowledge of Veteran’s, International Student, ADA and Dual Credit advisement preferred but not required.   

Salary

Based on SICEA Salary Schedule.
