Examination for Patrolman
The City of Eldorado, Illinois is now accepting applications to update our current eligibility register for the position of Patrolman. Applicants must be United States Citizens, 21 years of age and other age limitations as set forth by state statute. Applicants must have the following: possess a high school diploma or GED; must not have been convicted of a felony; must qualify medically under Board of Fire and Police Commission regulations; must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license; and must be of good moral character. Upon appointment, he or she must become a resident not more than 30 miles from the Eldorado city limits within 120 days. Selection process will include basic application review and acceptance by the board, physical agility test, written test, background investigation, and oral interview. The physical agility test will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Eldorado High School. The written test will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 following the physical agility test at the Eldorado City Hall, 901 Fourth Street, Eldorado, Illinois. Oral interviews will be at a later date. Applications for Patrolman may be picked up at the City Clerk’s Office, 901 Fourth Street, Eldorado, Illinois beginning April 8, 2019, and must be returned no later than May 13, 2019, 4:00 p.m.
