Math Student Support Specialist


This is a part-time, 28 hours per week, 12-month position with primary responsibilities in supporting students in developmental mathematics. 

1. Guide modules and co-requisite courses in an instructor of record format for developmental education math courses.
2. Successfully adapt to changing models and mandates for mathematics instruction as required.
3. Actively participate in new mathematics instruction educational models for student success.
4. Contribute to the completion, retention and persistence of students in the area of mathematics.
5. Contribute to the overall well-being and vitality of the institution through the faithful discharge of all assignments and other duties assigned by the Executive Dean of Academic Services.
6. Be proficient in computer and instructional technology, and embrace the use of instructional technology in the classroom.
7. Perform all other duties as assigned.


Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field; a secondary education math degree is preferred. Understanding of and commitment to the community college philosophy; teaching experience at the high school level; experience with online instruction; and, experience with computers and instructional technology as well as teaching experience at the college level preferred.  


$20 per hour
