Assistant to the VP of Administrative Services/Payroll Coordinator

Description

Southeastern Illinois College is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant to the VP of Administrative Services/Payroll Coordinator. This position plays a critical role in the College’s Business Office by maintaining and processing all aspects of the college’s semi-monthly payroll and performing essential accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage computerized payroll, including ACH direct deposit and tax withholdings
  • Maintain records for the State University Retirement System (SURS)
  • File state and federal payroll reports, including W-2s
  • Report new hires to the State of Illinois
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain employee data
  • Perform general ledger duties and process purchase orders
  • Assist with accounts receivable and generate financial reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Business or a related field (required)
  • Experience in payroll processing and accounting is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience in a unionized setting is a plus

Salary

$40,000 to $45,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
