Assistant to the VP of Administrative Services/Payroll Coordinator
Description
Southeastern Illinois College is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant to the VP of Administrative Services/Payroll Coordinator. This position plays a critical role in the College’s Business Office by maintaining and processing all aspects of the college’s semi-monthly payroll and performing essential accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage computerized payroll, including ACH direct deposit and tax withholdings
- Maintain records for the State University Retirement System (SURS)
- File state and federal payroll reports, including W-2s
- Report new hires to the State of Illinois
- Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain employee data
- Perform general ledger duties and process purchase orders
- Assist with accounts receivable and generate financial reports
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Business or a related field (required)
- Experience in payroll processing and accounting is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience in a unionized setting is a plus
Salary
$40,000 to $45,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
