Student Resource Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a part-time position up to 28 hours per week. This position will assist in the library and the Dana Keating Student Success Center/Testing Center during designated hours and is responsible for performing clerical and technical function necessary to fulfill the needs of library users and assisting with interlibrary loans and library material processing. In addition, the position is responsible for assisting with administration of tests in the testing center and overseeing tutors in the Dana Keating Student Success Center.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Assist with:

  • Administration of placement testing and other tests administered in the center, both on and off campus as needed.
  • Scheduling of student and professional tutors and other tutoring services.
  • Coordination of scheduling of the Testing Center for all tests administered.
  • Entering placement test scores into the College’s student information system.
  • Fulfilling interlibrary loan requests from regional, national, and international libraries as appropriate.
  • Processing and mailing late notices for overdue materials and invoicing users for lost material in the library.
  • Maintaining accurate interlibrary loan records.
  • Processing library materials in preparation for initial circulation after cataloging.
  • Performing basic reference services by responding to inquiries in person, by phone, or other electronic means. Interpreting user needs and referring more difficult reference issues to the Librarian.
  • Checking library materials in/out on automated systems, renewing items, collecting fees, and processing patron registrations and student ID cards.
  • Program review, assessment, and other reports for the library and Student Success Center as required.

Qualifications

Associate degree required. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communications, analytical, interpersonal skills, attention to details, and deadlines with excellent follow-up skills are needed to be successful in this position.  Ability to read and interpret budget and financial documents, manuals, procedure reports are also required.
