The 2021 Shawnee Marathon and Half-Marathon will be returning on October 2, 2021. This is a few weeks sooner than the Marathon typically lands on. This was done so that the race would fall in conjunction with the City of Harrisburg Sasquatch Festival. This allows the City to close all of the necessary streets on one weekend as opposed to two weekends in the same month. It also provides a festival style atmosphere for our finishers.

SIC is the location for the half marathon, which is 13.1 miles!

The race will draw participants from all over the country. Since 2016, they have had participants from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Delaware, Washington, Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisiana, New Mexico, Iowa, Michigan, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Florida, Wisconsin, Idaho, Kansas and even Japan!

Shuttles will be made available at the finish line location near Poplar and Vine Streets in Harrisburg. There is plenty of public parking nearby. Some participants may choose to park at the start line locations, which is perfectly fine. Just know that there are no shuttles that will be returning you to your vehicle.

There is no designated shuttle time. The shuttles will be first come first serve and depart once filled. The shuttles will make multiple trips as necessary. The last shuttle departs for Southeastern Illinois College for the Half Marathon at 8:15 am

Registration for the Half Marathon is $55 (more after Aug. 8) and will close on September 26th at midnight.

Half Marathon Prizes: First Place Male: $250 / First Place Female: $250
