DESCRIPTION:The last day to drop semester-long (16-week) spring courses with a full refund is TODAY (Monday\, January 23) by 11:59 PM.  We do not offer partial refunds.  After January 23\, students have until April 24 to withdraw (no refund\, W grade on transcript) from spring semester courses.  After April 24\, students cannot withdraw from any courses and will receive a final grade. \nTo drop a course\, students may: \n\nStop by Enrollment Services (first floor\, E Building).\nEmail admissions@sic.edu from the student’s Falconmail account.  We do not accept requests from personal email accounts (i.e. Google\, Yahoo\, etc.).\nCall Admissions at 618-252-5400\, ext. 4120.  Be sure to know your SIC ID number.\n\nRegistration for late start/ mini-semester (8-week courses) is going on now. DESCRIPTION:2023 PAUL SIMON STUDENT ESSAY CONTEST \nThe Illinois Community College Trustees Association’s PAUL SIMON STUDENT ESSAY CONTEST provides a $500 scholarship to the student who best describes “How My Community College Has Changed My Life.” \nCONTEST RULES\nAll currently enrolled students at ICCTA member colleges are eligible to participate in the Paul Simon Student Essay Contest at the local level. However\, each ICCTA member college may enter only ONE student essay in the statewide competition each year.\nEach essay must be brief (less than 500 words)\, typed\, and address the theme “How My Community College Has Changed My Life.” Entrants may use “How My Community College Has Changed My Life” as the essay’s title or create their own title related to the theme.\nEACH ENTRY WILL BE JUDGED ON THE BASIS OF WRITING STYLE\, CLARITY OF EXPRESSION\, AND RELEVANCY TO THE TOPIC\, WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS PLACED ON CORRECT GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION. \nCONTEST DEADLINE\nEssays are due in Southeastern’s Office of Academic Affairs (E 236) no later than FEBRUARY 24\, 2023. The local winner will receive a $50.00 award and the right to compete in the statewide contest. SIC will submit the local winning essay to the ICCTA for participation in the statewide contest.
