DESCRIPTION:New Student Orientation is STRONGLY recommended to give new students a positive start! Orientation is also a good way to meet other new students! Sign up Today! Free Class! College Credit! Please note: If you attended orientation with your high school in the spring\, you do not need to attend again. \nDATES: August 2 & 4\, 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. (Choose one) \nSchedule:1:00 pm – 1:15 pm                Welcome and check-in in the Learning Commons – Building A1:15 pm – 2:15 pm                Session 12:15 pm – 2:30 pm                Break2:30 pm – 3:30 pm                Session 2 \nSessions:Information Technology/Online Learning/Starfish – Room B224-Building B \nStaff from Information Technology will assist students in setting up their Falcon Mail\, MySIC and TxtSIC accounts.  Students will also learn how to use MySIC to access their grades\, transcripts\, financial aid\, and other information.  Learning Commons staff members will then show students where and how to login for online classes\, specifically\, the EDUC 122\, Strategies for College Success\, (Orientation).   A presentation will be given on Starfish\, SIC’s retention software. \nTRIO/Campus Tour/Student ID Cards – TRIO Lab/Library-Building A \nStaff from the Student Support Services/TRIO program will share information about TRIO and discuss program eligibility and services.  Students will obtain their Student ID/Library card in the Library.  They will then be given a guided tour of the campus. \nFor more information or to register\, contact Registrar Tiffany Brannock at 618-252-5400\, ext. 4120 or registrar@sic.edu
