SUMMARY:Art Exhibition Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a reception to honor our three current art exhibitions and meet the artists! \n\n“Letting the Metal Speak: Sculptures by Aldon Addington” – A sculptor in Southern Illinois since the late 1960s\, Aldon earned his MFA from Cranbrook and later taught at SIUC. Now ninety\, he continues creating remarkable work. His sculpture\, Three Portals\, stands proudly outside the Hise Museum.\n“Mythical Threads” by Luca Cruzat – Originally from Chile\, Luca came to the U.S. following the 1973 coup and has been part of the Southern Illinois art scene for many years. An MFA graduate in Printmaking and a Master of Foreign Language in French from SIUC\, Luca is a widely exhibited and collected artist.\nMark Pease’s Video Work “Opening Sequence” – A professor at SIUC for over a decade\, Mark is well known for his digital and video art. He holds an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and exhibits both nationally and internationally.\n\nThis exhibition runs through April 25th. Museum hours are Monday through Friday\, 10 a.m.-6p.m. or by appointment.
