Freshman Breaks Lady Falcons Record

Anna Best, a 4-foot-10-inch freshman guard for Southeastern Illinois College’s Lady Falcons women’s basketball team, set a new school record for three-point shots made in a single game. On Tuesday night, Dec. 11, in a game against Morthland College in West Frankfort, Best made nine of 19 attempts from three-point range to break the previous record which stood at eight. She had a season high of 38 total points for the game, shooting an impressive 54 percent from the field. She also had three steals, three assists and nine total rebounds for the night. Southeastern won the game 95-60. Best is from Marmaduke, Ark.
The previous record was set in 1991-1992 by Shelly Hurst under coach Mark Motsinger and again around 2003 by Crystal DeLorch under coach Greg Franklin.
