SIC Community Choir Seeking New Members

Southeastern Illinois College Community Choir is accepting new members.
Director Tim Green is calling for individuals with a desire to create terrific group vocal performances to join the choir. Open to singers of high school age and up, the community choir performs one concert each fall and spring semester at SIC’s Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC), as well as a performance at May commencement exercises and occasional special performances as well.
The Choir is comprised of volunteers from all over southern Illinois. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. in room F110 at SIC in Harrisburg.
Tim Green of Golconda has been directing the SIC Community Choir for five years and has been directing similar choirs for more than 25 years.
“We welcome ‘teachable’ singers who desire to be part of a terrific vocal group,” said Green. “The choir is open to all SIC students and faculty or anyone high school age and up, and male voices are especially needed.”
There is no cost to participate, and members can receive one college credit per semester, up to four credits, if desired.
The Tuesday night rehearsal schedule is already underway, and those interested in joining the choir may simply come to a rehearsal, or for more information, contact the Green at 618-841-2596 or tim.green@sic.edu. The choir is currently preparing for the December concert.
