Health Fair Coming to SIC October 21
This year’s Health Fair at Southeastern Illinois College will feature a number of vendors addressing a wide variety of wellness-related topics. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. until noon in the SIC Harry Crisp Student Center in “B” Building.
Over 30 booths are scheduled to be on hand. There will be different screening options available, including hearing exams by All American Hearing, blood pressure screenings by SIC Nursing and students and Deaconess VNA Plus Home Care and Hospice, free pregnancy tests provided by Adoption from the Heart (Caritas Family Solutions), blood glucose tests by Phoenix Rehabilitation & Nursing Care and spirometry (breathing tests) by Southern Illinois Respiratory Disease Program amongst many others.
Chair massages will be provided by Joyner Therapy Services. Flu shots will also be available at an affordable rate provided by Egyptian Home Health.
Coinciding with the health fair, SIC’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society will be sponsoring a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the college’s Visual and Performing Arts Center Lobby.
Booth spaces are still available for any health-related organizations who wish to present. Those interested in procuring a space for a booth may call Donna Hearn at 252-5400, extension 3213.
