SIC Adult Education Classes Announced for Fall
Southeastern Illinois College has announced the Fall schedule for Adult Education (GED) classes and locations and continues to ensure that students have all resources needed to help them successfully obtain their High School Equivalency diploma.
SIC offers morning and evening Adult Education classes in Saline and White Counties. This allows students to choose the place that best fits their schedule. Locations include SIC main campus in Harrisburg and SIC’s David L. Stanley White County Center in Carmi, with all classes beginning Sept. 6. The Harrisburg classes are offered Tuesday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-1:45 p.m. or 5 p.m.-8:45 p.m. Carmi classes are Monday-Wednesday, 9 a.m.-12:45p.m. Registration is made simple by registering the first day/night of class.
All classes are free and there are numerous resources including reading materials and practice tests available for students at no charge. To those who qualify, a limited number of scholarships have been made available to cover the cost of the exam through a grant received from the Dollar General Family Literacy Foundation.
Free transportation has been made available through Rides Mass Transit.
“SIC’s Adult Education department has wonderful, dedicated instructors who work with each student to meet their personal educational needs,” said Angie Dunk, adult education coordinator and data manager at SIC. “The instructors meet the students where they are at in their education, develop an individualized plan for each student, and give students the tools and materials the student will need to help them succeed.”
