Hundreds Return for SIC’s Heritage Festival

The nice weekend weather brought vendors, crafters and shoppers from all over the region to the 39th annual Heritage Festival at Southeastern Illinois College.
With a focus on locally, hand-crafted items and delicious food, hundreds packed the parking lots for the event. More than 120 vendors from five different states with close to 200 booths were ready and waiting for the crowds.
This year’s event included vendors with handmade jewelry, handmade American Girl® look alike clothing, handmade soaps, hand-painted items, dough art ornaments, primitive furniture, barn quilts, wreaths, purses, wooden bowls, porcelain dolls, bird feeders, candles and apparel amongst other items. Companies represented included RADA knives, Mary Kay, Scentsy, and Origami Owl, and many more.
Donna Hearn, event organizer, said, “We had exceptionally large crowds, and we hope to see them all back again next year!
