Pirate Kids’ Fair Coming to SIC April 17
Seadogs and scallywags alike can enjoy all that this year’s Pirate themed Kids’ Fair has to offer in Southeastern Illinois College’s Deaton Gymnasium on April 17, from 4-6 p.m. This fun day for the family boasts free food, drinks, games and prizes.
This free event, made possible through a community partnership with Egyptian Health Department, Legence Bank, Harrisburg Medical Center, Wabash Area Development Inc (WADI) Head Start, Harrisburg District Library, is for children ages 0-5th grade. Registration is in B/C lobby with games and information in Deaton Gym.
Community vendors representing many public agencies, civic organizations and local businesses will provide fun activities, games and prizes for the children. There will be a pirate ship photo backdrop created by SIC Art and Theater Clubs and cameras or cell phones are encouraged. SIC’s Nursing Department will host a Pirate Training Area, so no one should have to walk the plank. This fair is designed to help promote reading, education, health, nutrition and safety in a fun manner.
Again this year there will be drawings provided by some of our vendors and local businesses. Included are Lego prizes and gift certificates amongst others.
Free food will be served in the SIC Harry L. Crisp Student Center cafeteria provided by WADI, Harrisburg Medical Center, Legence Bank and SIC.
This event is provided by the Community Education Department at Southeastern Illinois College. For more information call 252-5400 Ext. 2300.
