Orr to Compete in Archery and Volleyball at SIC

Charli Orr from Crab Orchard has expressed a variety of talents and interests with her plans for Southeastern Illinois College this fall. Not only did she sign to compete with the Falcon Archers, she will also be on the new Falcon volleyball team while she studies the field of cosmetology.
“I am excited to have Charli on the team,” said head archery coach, Ricky Sauls. “Charli got her first bow when she was 10, and she loves shooting and being outside. Her dedication to shooting and being a part of a team will be an asset to the SIC archery team.”
Along with playing volleyball since she was in fifth grade, she managed to squeeze in softball, FFA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was a member of the prom committee during high school.
She said, “I am thankful to have the opportunity to continue my volleyball career at SIC and be able to shoot on the archery team at the same time.”
The SIC Archery Team started with a small group of students as a pilot program in 2011. Since that time, the Falcon Archers have won national awards against Division I universities, added an indoor facility and indoor team, and host high school tournaments. The team is a member of USA Archery and ASA Archery. For more information about SIC’s Archery team and facilities, visit www.sic.edu/archery or contact ricky.sauls@sic.edu or 618-252-5400, ext. 2248.
