Bradford, TN Archer Joins SIC Falcons
HARRISBURG, Ill. (Dec. 15 2021) – Bradford, Tennessee, native Morgan Hickerson has signed her intent to compete with the Southeastern Illinois College Falcon Archers for the 2022-2023 season.
“SIC is beautiful and a great college,” says Hickerson. “The people and professors are highly respected and very kind. At SIC, I plan to major in IT security in the hopes of one day joining the FBI.”
Morgan is a member of the Bradford High School Class of 2022. During her high school years, she has been a member of the National Beta Club, FBLA and Spanish Club. She competed on the school’s cross-country and archery teams. She is also an active member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
“We are really proud of Morgan and her accomplishments. She has both an impressive academic and archery resume,” said Bradford archery team coach and father of Morgan, Michael Hickerson. “Morgan has been shooting traditional archery for eight years and has shot all across the state of Tennessee with TN S3DA as well as shot in ASA Pro/Am events across the country and has lettered all four years.”
“I am very excited to have Morgan shooting for SIC next year,” says SIC Archery head coach Ricky Sauls. “I have watched Morgan shoot for several years even before I even thought about coaching at SIC. Morgan will be a big asset to the archery team on and off the range. Morgan comes from a great family and has a contagious personality. I don’t know that I have ever seen Morgan not smiling, even when she is not shooting good. I believe Morgan is going to do great things for the SIC Archery team and for the country. Morgan’s goal is to work for the FBI doing cybersecurity.”
The SIC Archery Team started with a small group of students as a pilot program in 2011. Since that time, the Falcon Archers have won national awards against Division I universities, added an indoor facility, an indoor team and host high school tournaments. The team is a member of USA Archery and ASA Archery. For more information about SIC’s archery team and facilities, visit www.sic.edu/archery or contact ricky.sauls@sic.edu or 618-252-5400, ext. 2248.
