Falcons win at WKCTC
The Southeastern Illinois College men’s basketball team held on for a 97-95 thrilling win at West Kentucky Community and Technical College Wednesday night at Haws Gymnasium in Paducah.
The Falcons trailed 41-39 at halftime but made enough key plays and free throws down the stretch to rally for the road victory. The win avenges a loss to the Stars last week in Harrisburg.
“I’m so proud of our guys and how they competed tonight,” SIC Coach Sam Swinford said. “Winning on the road is tough and our guys really earned this one tonight.”
SIC was led in scoring by Brandon Anthony, (Herrin) who had 25 points. Devin Rankin of Carmi added 14, Kevon Williams (New Madrid, Missouri) had 13, Jermarco Burse (Annapolis, Missouri) chipped in 12, Amir Spann (Mt. Vernon) had 11, Kaleb Ramer (Golconda) had nine, Noah Curry (Henderson, Kentucky) contributed five and Calen Banks (Cave in Rock) and Bryce Simpson (St. Louis) both finished with four.
The Falcons, who have now won six games this season, host Brescia Sunday at 1 p.m.
