Forensic Falcons Take Home Gold at Regional Competition
Southeastern Illinois College’s Forensic Falcons traveled to Moraine Valley Community College for the Region IV Forensics competition, which is the last competition before the final National tournament of the year. With a squad of five competitors traveling, SIC took high honors, receiving “Gold” status in both Individual Events and the overall competition (including debate).
Coach Jenny Billman noted how hard the team worked to place so competitively with a squad of students half the size of most teams attending the tournament. “Our team was small but mighty!”
Freshman Ethan Bordoy advanced both his Informative and Dramatic Interpretation events to Regional Finals. “I thought regionals were very fun,” he added, “It was a great way to help us get prepared for nationals.”
The team hosted Night Before Nationals March 30, as a fundraiser for the team, showcasing their talent to family, friends, and the general public. The 2023 Phi Rho Pi National Tournament will be held in Bethesda, Maryland. The team is coached by Jenny Billman, Paul Cummins, and Rachel Parish.
