Southeastern Illinois College Men’s Basketball Team adds Vienna Standout Charlie King

HARRISBURG, IL – The Southeastern Illinois College men’s basketball team has announced the addition of Charlie King, a 6’5″ guard from Vienna High School for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

An Illinois State Scholar with a remarkable 4.94 GPA, King brings a wealth of talent and experience to the Falcons. As the All-Conference Team Captain and Varsity Team Captain, he has proven himself to be a leader on and off the court. Additionally, King has been recognized for his outstanding performance in multiple tournaments, including the Eldorado Holiday Tournament, The Vienna Classic, and The Metropolis Classic, where he was named to the All-Tournament team.

Southeastern Illinois College Head Coach Sam Swinford expressed his excitement about King joining the team, stating, “Charlie is an incredible talent and even better person with a strong work ethic that shows both on the court and in the classroom. We are excited for all he will accomplish here”

King is also looking forward to joining the Southeastern Illinois College basketball team, stating, “I am very honored to have been given the opportunity to play at SIC. I’m excited to continue to improve on and off the court.”

King is the fifth commitment in the Southeastern Illinois College Men’s Basketball 2023 recruiting class and the fourth from community college district #533.
