Harrisburg High School Student to Take the Stage at SIC Theatre

Reagan Brasher of Harrisburg joins the Southeastern Illinois College thespians as she commits to perform on the Allan G. Kimball Stage at SIC this fall. She is a recipient of a theater scholarship for the upcoming academic year.
“I think she will be a good addition to the SIC theater program,” says SIC Theater Instructor, Gareth York. “Reagan will be a good fit with our returning and new students this upcoming academic year. I think she’ll be a good addition to any of the other programs and clubs she wants to get involved in.”
Brasher recently graduated from Harrisburg High School. She has been performing in high school productions for the past year and a half including Tuck Everlasting and Mary Poppins, and Beauty and the Beast. She was also involved in the Key Club and Art Club while in high school. Outside of the classroom, she has also had roles in the SIC Jr. Falcon productions of Madagascar Jr. and Chicago: Teen Edition as well as performing in many church musicals. She says that performing in Chicago has been her favorite role to date.
“I chose SIC because it’s local and affordable,” says Brasher. “I’ve always known about it since I was young and I can stay close to home.”
While at SIC, Reagan will be pursuing an Associate of Arts in Theatre. She plans to go into the education sector and hopes to one day direct musicals at a school.
The SIC Theatre in the George T. Dennis Visual & Performing Arts Center seats 450 people and produces four student shows throughout the year, plus two Junior Falcon Productions shows for children and high school students in the summer.
