Harrisburg Graduate to Dance at SIC Theatre
Ayden Price of Harrisburg joins the Southeastern Illinois College thespians as he commits to perform on the Allan G. Kimball Stage at SIC this fall. He is one of five recipients of the college’s new dance scholarships for students pursuing an Associate of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. This degree is a new offering for the college, with courses beginning in Fall 2023.
“I think he will be a good addition to the SIC theater program,” says SIC Theater Instructor, Gareth York. “Ayden will be a good fit with our returning and new students this upcoming academic year. I think he’ll be a good addition to any of the other programs and clubs he wants to get involved in.”
Ayden is a 2023 graduate of Harrisburg High School and has been performing in theater for the past two years. He has had roles in such productions as HHS’s Tuck Everlasting and SIC’s Jr. Falcons’ Chicago: Teen Edition. He says that Chicago was his favorite role out of all the shows he’s participated in so far. He is also an active member of the HHS Doug Pound, Purple Clarion, and Yearbook Staff.
“I chose SIC because it was closer to home,” says Price. “I wanted to stay close to my mom.”
The SIC Theatre in the George T. Dennis Visual & Performing Arts Center seats 450 people and produces four student shows throughout the year, plus two Junior Falcon Productions shows for children and high school students in the summer.
