Harrisburg’s Jaxon Quisenberry Commits to SIC Theatre
Jaxon Quisenberry of Harrisburg joins Southeastern Illinois College this fall as he commits to work behind the scenes backstage of the SIC Theatre next year.
Quisenberry started acting in high school but prefers backstage and spotlight work. He performed and worked behind the scenes for the Harrisburg High School production of Newsies on the Allan G. Kimball Stage at SIC.
“I’m just more of a behind the scenes type of guy,” says Quisenberry.
Quisenberry participated in various activities at HHS, including football, band, history club, and the National Honor Society, as well as theatre.
Quisenberry receives a talent scholarship with his commitment to work backstage. He plans on completing pre-veterinarian school at SIC and continuing his studies at the University of Illinois.
“I am excited to have Jaxon join us in the fall,” said Gareth York, SIC Theatre instructor. “To make the shows run smoothly, you always need quality help behind the scenes, and Jaxon is going to be a terrific asset!”
The SIC Theatre in the George T. Dennis Visual & Performing Arts Center seats 450 people and produces four student shows throughout the year, plus two Junior Falcon Productions shows for children and high school students in the summer.
