DESCRIPTION:Presented by the SIC Cultural Arts Series \n\nIvas John’s journey into blues began with a revelation of its simplicity and power from his family’s record collections. Originating in Chicago\, he honed his guitar skills backing notable blues figures\, eventually forming his own band. With over 200 performances annually\, the Ivas John Band\, known for their originality\, shared stages with blues greats and gained PBS recognition. Ivas\, favoring a clean sound and avoiding clichés\, blends various blues styles\, offering a unique musical experience. His approach\, both instrumentally and lyrically\, pays homage to tradition while carving his distinctive path in the blues scene. \n$10 for adults\, $5 for students – get tickets at the door. \n
