SIC Clay Breakers Shine at National Championships, Bring Home Multiple Titles
Southeastern Illinois College’s Clay Breakers trapshooting team brought home several national titles and high placements after competing in the AIM (Academics, Integrity and Marksmanship) Grand and Grand American Championships in Sparta, Illinois, this summer.
The competitions, among the largest trapshooting events in the world, stretched over 15 days of intense heat and humidity. SIC distinguished itself not only with strong athletic performances but also with one of its best years yet for recruitment.
“These tournaments are truly an endurance test,” said SIC Clay Breakers Head Coach Jordan Hammersley. “Our team faced the heat, unpredictable start times, and tough competition head-on. The results speak for themselves — and the recruitment interest in our program this year was the best we’ve ever had.”
