SOUTHEASTERN ILLINOIS COLLEGE RECEIVES FULL REACCREDITATION
As an institution of higher learning, Southeastern has had multiple successful accreditations. Our most recent accreditation visit by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) was held in April 2019. We are proud to announce that the HLC awarded Southeastern with the maximum accreditation period of 10 years with no focus visits or monitoring reports required. Prior to this accreditation visit; Southeastern participated in three previous visits, in 1988, 1998, and 2008, in which the College was awarded 10-year accreditation from each visit. The College was awarded its first full accreditation in 1976, less than a decade after it was granted an Illinois Class I Community College status.
Southeastern is also recognized and monitored by the Illinois Community College Board, Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations, and the Illinois Department of Public Health, all which affirm the currency and rigor of campus programs.
