SIC Community Jazz Band

Community Jazz Band

Love music? Interested in jazz? Play an instrument or sing? Come be part of the SIC Community Jazz Band—a new and dynamic jazz group at SIC for students and community members ages 16 and up.

Whether you’re a seasoned musician or just starting out, all instruments and skill levels are welcome. If you’re open to learning about jazz, learning how to play jazz and other styles of music, and open to learning some jazz improvisation, we’d love to have you.

The band rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:50 p.m. on the SIC campus, under the direction of Mr. Brandon Bryant. Rehearsals are fun, collaborative, and designed to help you build skills, connect with fellow musicians, and prepare for live performances.

Fall highlights include a holiday jazz concert with guest vocalists. The band typically performs at least once each semester, with potential for additional performances based on interest and opportunity.

Whether you play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, flute, clarinet, or something more unique—you are welcome here!

Instruments: Please bring your own instrument, unless you play drums or piano—SIC provides those.
Cost: Participation is completely free for everyone—no tuition or fees required.
