Part-time Professional English Tutor
Description
Southeastern Illinois College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Professional English Tutor to support students in developing their academic English skills. This part-time position is up to 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling based on student needs and availability. This part-time role involves working closely with students to enhance writing, reading, and communication abilities in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions in English
- Assist students with writing, grammar, reading comprehension, and study strategies
- Support academic success through personalized instruction and feedback
- Maintain a professional and encouraging learning atmosphere
- Adapt tutoring approaches to meet diverse student needs, including online support when applicable
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred but not required
- Minimum of two (2) years of prior teaching experience preferred but not required
- Experience teaching in an online environment preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- This position would not start until August 17, 2026.
Salary
$20/hour
