Placement Test
The Testing Center administers the Accuplacer Next Generation test, which is the placement test required of all new students prior to registration. Placement testing is free. The test takes approximately two hours; covers the basic skills of reading, writing, and math; and is scored immediately. The scores are used for placement into the appropriate levels of coursework in English, reading, and math. Students may take the placement tests at a remote site if access to the Testing Center is inconvenient or hardship and have the scores sent to our Admissions Specialist. Students who have an ACT composite score of 20 or above, or an SAT composite score of 1020 or above are exempt from this testing. Call 252-5400 ext. 2442 to schedule an appointment or stop by Room A-144. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are allowed in the center and the library when space and time are available.
NOTE: The NextGen ACCUPLACER may be taken only twice during an academic year. If you have previously completed an Accuplacer placement exam, test scores are valid for 3 years.
