Dinosaur Kids’ Fair Coming to SIC March 28
This year’s Dinosaur themed Kids’ Fair will be a dino-mite time for kids ages 0-5th grade. The event will be held in Southeastern Illinois College’s Deaton Gymnasium on March 28, from 4-6 p.m. This fun day for the family boasts free food, drinks, games and prizes
This free event is made possible through a community partnership with Egyptian Health Department, Legence Bank, Harrisburg Medical Center, Wabash Area Development Inc (WADI) Head Start, Harrisburg District Library. Registration is in B/C lobby with games and information in Deaton Gym.
Community vendors representing many public agencies, civic organizations and local businesses will provide fun activities, games and prizes for the children. SIC’s Nursing Department will have a plethora of dinosaur related happenings for children including a table with miniature dinosaurs to look at and other activities. They will also teach children to dance to Koo Koo Kanga Roo’s “Dinosaur Stomp” and sneeze like a T-Rex. The Nursing Department will also have an interactive Velcro food and dinosaur board and a dinosaur head cardboard cutout for the children to toss healthy food into the mouth.
This fair is designed to help promote reading, education, health, nutrition and safety in a fun manner.
Again this year there will be drawings provided by some of our vendors and local businesses. Included are Lego prizes and gift certificates amongst others.
Free food will be served in the SIC Harry L. Crisp Student Center cafeteria provided by WADI, Harrisburg Medical Center, Legence Bank and SIC.
This event is provided by the Community Education Department at Southeastern Illinois College. For more information call 252-5400 Ext. 2300.
