Math and Science Club
The Math and Science Club is a social, academic, and service oriented organization of which students can be a part at SIC. Membership is open to students pursuing math, science, engineering, technology and pre-professional majors. Non-STEM students who are genuinely interested in math, science or technology are welcome to join as well. Members are expected to demonstrate academic integrity and maintain a good academic standing in their coursework.
The MSC promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of the life and physical sciences, mathematics and technology, while emphasizing the importance of community service and social camaraderie. Opportunities and activities throughout the semester include co-hosting on-campus video game tournaments, participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program, assisting with the annual Academic Challenge (formerly WYSE) competition, assisting with the annual STEM day, and maintaining the campus recycling program. The hard work of club members is rewarded at the end of the spring semester with a 3 day, 2 night trip involving educational and outdoor activities. Club meetings are held on a regular basis.
