SIC Hosts Young Artist Workshop

Southeastern Illinois College is hosting a Young Artist Workshop for the first time. This workshop is for students in second through sixth grades.

Brooks Bleyer of Marion will be instructing the workshop. The projects that Bleyer will be teaching include Favorite Memory/Place: Water Color Resist, Self-Portrait Collage, Picture Book Inspired Lesson, Famous Artist Inspired Lesson and Art Show/Reception.

All supplies for this workshop will be provided. Students will be working with many different materials in this program including, watercolor paint, old magazines and other print materials, crayons and acrylic paint amongst many others.

The series will cost $30 per student and will feature a different project each week. This workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, beginning Sept. 13 through Oct. 11 on SIC’s main campus in room A-221.
