2nd Annual Child Abuse Prevention Forum is April 7 at SIC

In honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Southeastern Illinois College Criminal Justice department is sponsoring an educational forum on April 7, 1 – 4 p.m. The 2nd Annual Giving Them a Voice: What You can Do to Help Victims of Child Abuse will feature breakout sessions, a panel discussion and informational tables where those in attendance will learn about topics ranging from child abuse signs and symptoms to the role of child advocacy centers in child abuse investigations.
Representatives from the Illinois State Police, Department of Children and Family Services, The Guardian Center, CASA of Saline County, Egyptian Health Department and Children’s Medical Resource Network will be on hand to share practical information on what each of us can do to help prevent child abuse and give victims a voice.
The forum will be held in the Robert I. Gregg Technology Center in the G120 Conference Room. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP by contacting Brent Maguire at (618) 252-5400 ext. 2329 or brent.maguire@sic.edu by April 3.
