Annual Job Fair Coming to SIC April 24
Southeastern Illinois College’s annual Job Fair will once again be held in Joseph Deaton Gymnasium on April 24 from 9 a.m.- noon.
At SIC’s Job Fair, job seekers of all types will have an opportunity to survey the employment field, network and perhaps take a step toward a new future. Attendees can expect vendors from a wide variety of areas and industries, including hospitals, nursing homes, manufacturing, staffing agencies and banking amongst many others.
The event is free not only for the public but also for employers to set up a booth. Those attending should bring copies of their resume and dress to interview.
“The job fair is the perfect opportunity for connecting those seeking employment with companies seeking employees,” said Lori Cox, associate dean of workforce and community education. “We hope to help out our community members and the workforce alike.”
Improvement workshops will also be available at no cost during the job fair in room B114. At 10 and 11 a.m., the Illinois Department of Employment Security will offer “Top 10 Interview Questions and How to Answer Them.” At noon SIC Career Evaluator, Amy Mings will offer “Skills Employers want… and how to get them.”
The fair is held in cooperation with the Saline County Chamber of Commerce, WEBQ Radio, the Illinois Department of Employment Services and SIC.
