SIC Falcons Sign a Crab Orchard Archer

Dylan Elders of Crab Orchard penned his intent to compete with the Southeastern Illinois College Falcon Archers for the 2021-22 year, starting this fall.
Elders became interested in archery very early, shooting his first deer at just eight years old.
“I am very excited to come to SIC! It is a dream come true to be able to compete on the archery team and walk on the baseball team. I can’t wait to see where God takes me.”
Elders plans to attend SIC with a major in Exercise Science and Physical Therapy. Along with his passion for archery, he was involved in baseball, basketball, cross country, FFA, FCA, Beta club, math team, and scholar bowl in high school.
“I look forward to seeing how far Dylan goes and happy to be a part of it. Dylan is very motivated, and I believe he will work hard to be the best he can be,” said SIC Archery Coach Ricky Sauls.
The SIC Archery Team started with a small group of students as a pilot program in 2011. Since that time, the Falcon Archers have won national awards against Division I universities, added an indoor facility and indoor team, and host high school tournaments. The team is a member of USA Archery and ASA Archery. For more information about SIC’s Archery team and facilities, visit www.sic.edu/archery or contact ricky.sauls@sic.edu or 618-252-5400, ext. 2248.
