Gallatin County Archer Joins SIC Falcons
Addyson Monroe has signed her intent to compete with the Southeastern Illinois College Falcon Archers for the 2022-2023 season.
Monroe is a senior at Gallatin County High School and has been shooting archery for seven years. She has won several tournaments including a first place at the S3DA 3D State Tournament, second place at the S3DA Indoor State Tournament, and winning all Illinois S3DA 3D Tournaments last year. In addition to archery, she has been a member of her high school’s FFA, FCCLA, and FBLA clubs. When she attends SIC in the fall, she is going to major in nursing.
“I am very excited to have Addyson coming to the SIC archery team,” says SIC’s head archery coach, Ricky Sauls. “I have watched Addyson shoot for the last several years and she is constantly striving to be better. Addyson is a solid archer and a great person with a good family. Just being around Addyson will give everyone a positive attitude. I can’t wait to see how far Addyson goes in archery and life. Her plans are to be a delivery room nurse. I am sure every family she touches will be off to a good start.”
The SIC Archery Team started with a small group of students as a pilot program in 2011. Since that time, the Falcon Archers have won national awards against Division I universities, added an indoor facility, an indoor team and host high school tournaments. The team is a member of USA Archery. For more information about SIC’s archery team and facilities, visit www.sic.edu/archery or contact ricky.sauls@sic.edu or 618-252-5400, ext. 2248.
