SIC Theatre Secures Owen Campbell of Galatia
Owen Campbell of Galatia commits to Southeastern Illinois College theatre and will continue performing on the Allan G. Kimball Stage at SIC next fall.
Owen Campbell started acting in high school for both Galatia High School and SIC and has starred in four plays. His favorite being A Christmas Carol at SIC.
“A Christmas Carol was the first show where I really felt like I knew what I was doing,” says Campbell.
Campbell competed in various extracurriculars at GHS, including Scholar Bowl (he was MVP and the team won regionals), chess club, and Academic Challenge (Campbell won 1st in Physics at regionals at SIC and 3rd at sectionals.)
His future plans are to go into chiropractics and functional medicine.
“I am excited to have Owen Campbell join our theater program,” says Gareth York, SIC Theatre instructor. “He has already worked with some of the other actors, he works especially well with the younger kids when we have child actors, and I think he’s going to be a good fit.”
The SIC Theatre in the George T. Dennis Visual & Performing Arts Center seats 450 people and produces four student shows throughout the year, plus two Junior Falcon Productions shows for children and high school students in the summer.
