At SIC, we understand that student success is at the heart of everything we do. That's why we offer a comprehensive range of student services designed to support you throughout your academic journey and beyond. Whether you're just starting out, transferring from another institution, or returning to school after a break, we are here to assist you every step of the way.
Get Assistance:
- Academic Advising: Our team of experienced advisors is here to help you navigate your academic pathway, choose the right courses, and stay on track towards graduation.
- Financial Aid: We understand that financing your education can be challenging. Our financial aid advisors are available to help you explore scholarship opportunities, complete the FAFSA, and navigate the financial aid process.
- Tutoring and Academic Support: Need a little extra help with your coursework? Our tutoring and academic support services offer one-on-one assistance, group study sessions, and workshops to help you succeed in the classroom.
- Disability Services: We are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment for all students. Our disability services team provides accommodations and support services to students with disabilities, ensuring equal access to education.
- TRIO Programs: TRIO programs offer additional support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, including first-generation college students, low-income students, and students with disabilities. Our TRIO advisors provide personalized support, academic coaching, and resources to help you overcome barriers and achieve your academic goals.
- Freddie's Food Pantry: We understand that food insecurity can impact academic success. Our food pantry provides nutritious food options to students in need, helping to alleviate hunger and promote overall well-being.

Falcon Bistro
Need to refuel between classes?
Students rave about the food at SIC! The Falcon Bistro is open for breakfast and lunch and offers daily lunch specials, salad bar, lunchtime favorites, as well as healthy and sweet treats. A favorite morning stop for many students {and falcons} is the SIC Bookstore Coffee Shoppe. Serving up Starbucks coffee daily, our menu features a variety of drinks and treats that you're sure to love. While at the bookstore, check out the latest SIC essentials or pick up supplies for class.
Fitness
Find success with your health and fitness.
SIC's new STRETCH Fitness is ready to help you reach your fitness goals with a judgment-free approach to health and fitness. The center has state-of-the-art equipment for strength training, upper and lower body workouts, weightlifting, cardio workouts, and more. STRETCH Fitness is located in Building C overlooking Deaton Gym. The center is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and can be accessed via key card.
Chill Zone
SIC cares about your mental well-being.
Need someone to talk to? How about a place to escape when you need a mental break? SIC's licensed Mental Health Counselor offers free mental health resources for our students in our Chill Zone in B108. Please call (618) 252-5400 ext. 2523 to schedule an appointment.
Learning Commons
Find support and fun in the Learning Commons!
SIC's Learning Commons is more than just a library. Designed to meet our students' wants and needs, you'll find a modern area to use for reading and relaxing with a faux fireplace and other lounging areas, places to charge your electronic devices like the cyber bar, games and puzzles that include a Lego station, virtual reality experiences, 3D printing opportunities, and more. Work on your homework in group meeting spaces, large collaborative workspaces with floorto-ceiling whiteboards and screen-sharing monitors, or in solo study pods. You can also check out library books, find free tutoring, use SIC computers, print pages, work with a success coach, and find help for just about any student needs.
