SIC Hosts Free Community Paper Shred Event
Southeastern Illinois College is partnering with Piranha Mobile Shredding in Evansville to host a Free Community Paper Shred Event on Wednesday July 22 (rain or shine) from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Harrisburg campus.
There is a 100 pounds (three copy paper boxes) limit per person or business. Papers can be stapled, rubber banded, etc. However, no newspapers, magazines, or phone books will be collected. The paper will not be shredded on site, but will be collected and later securely processed by Piranha.
“Identity theft is a growing problem, and we are pleased to provide an opportunity for area residents to safely discard personal or private documents,” said event coordinator Greg McCulloch.
To alleviate traffic congestion, McCulloch asks those planning on bringing items to the event to please enter the campus from the north entrance off Muddy Road. Unloading will take place on the lower level of the North C Parking Lot. SIC is located at 3575 College Road, five miles east of Harrisburg and four miles south of Eldorado.
The community is encouraged to participate, and there is no charge.
For additional information, please contact Greg McCulloch greg.mcculloch@sic.edu or 618-252-5400, ext. 2520.
