Nursing Program
Why is our program the one for you?
100% of SIC’s Practical Nursing program students and 96% of SIC’s Associate Degree Nursing program students passed their licensure exams the first time upon graduation in 2023! Those who plan to continue their education and earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing leave fully prepared to take that next step.
This kind of success can only be attributed to the outstanding dedication of SIC’s nursing instructors to prepare students for success. At SIC, you will find that our faculty spends countless hours both inside and outside the classroom to serve as professor-mentors, not just teachers.
You will find that our programs provide concentrations in specialty areas like pediatrics and obstetrics. In addition to classroom instruction and in-depth training, students are exposed to a wide variety of clinical settings and patient populations within the community as part of their curriculum.
More nurses are needed.
Today, more nurses are retiring than are entering the nursing field, so it is a great time to become a nurse. More than a 6% increase in the number of registered nurses is expected between 2022 and 2032. (Source: www.bls.gov)

Which Nursing Program is right for you?
Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who provides care to patients by assessing and monitoring their condition, working in coordination with physicians during medical procedures, and administering treatments prescribed by the healthcare provider. They perform diagnostic tests, operate medical equipment, and educate patients on follow-up care.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a nurse that provides basic patient care. LPNs work under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs), doctors, and other providers.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) assists in patient care and function as effective members of the nursing team, under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs).
“Choosing SIC’s Nursing Programs rather than a large university straight out of high school was a career-defining choice. If I could go back in time, I would do everything the same way.”
DERIAN CORN, RN
2022 SIC ADN Graduate and OR Charge Nurse at Heartland Regional Medical Center
