SIC Forensic Falcons Win Season Opener
SIC’s Forensic Falcons speech team claimed top honors at this weekend’s Corn Classic invitational hosted by Kishwaukee College, the first tournament of their competitive season. In addition, SIC brought home four individual championships and 25 final round breaks.
“We are proud of the way our students represented Southeastern,” remarked Director of Forensics Paul Cummins. “Their hard work showed in their results.”
SIC was named tournament champion with 188 competition points. SIC bested second place Harper College by 78 points. Illinois Central College finished third with 66 points, followed by College of DuPage with 64 points and North Central College with 20 points.
Individual results from the tournament are as follows:
Tre Ingram (Harrisburg): tournament champion in prose interpretation, tournament champion in program oral interpretation, fifth in duo interpretation (with partner Sarah Birkla).
Zach Hanks (Harrisburg): tournament champion in dramatic interpretation, second in speech to entertain, second in duo interpretation (with partner Meredith Wolf).
Brandon Johnson (Harrisburg): tournament champion in duo interpretation (with partner Jeremiah Brown), second in poetry interpretation, fifth in program oral interpretation.
Jeremiah Brown (Harrisburg): tournament champion in duo interpretation (with partner Brandon Johnson), sixth in dramatic interpretation.
Meredith Wolf (Harrisburg): second in dramatic interpretation, second in duo interpretation, fifth in poetry interpretation.
Sarah Birkla (Carmi): second in prose interpretation, fourth in program oral interpretation, fifth in duo interpretation (with partner Tre Ingram).
Hannah Rodgers (Harrisburg): third in poetry, fourth in persuasive speaking, fourth in communication analysis.
Corrine McDaniel (Harrisburg): third in communication analysis, fourth in informative speaking, fifth in prose interpretation.
Dylan Comer (Carrier Mills): third in dramatic interpretation, sixth in poetry interpretation.
Nicole York (Shawneetown): second in communication analysis.
Hannah Rudin (St. Louis): fourth in dramatic interpretation.
Ben McGuire (Eldorado): fourth in speech to entertain.
