Top High School Archer to Shoot for SIC

Trever Butts recently visited Southeastern Illinois College to announce his intentions to shoot for the college’s national champion archery team beginning in the fall.
Butts is a senior at South Central High School in Farina, Illinois. As a junior, he was ranked sixth in the state by the Illinois Archery Shooters Association in the high school pins division in 3D target archery. He is the son of Jim (seated on the right) and Loretta Butts of Kinmundy, Illinois. Also present for the announcement was SIC archery coach Darin DeNeal.
“We started recruiting Trever about a year ago to strengthen our men’s team in the bow hunter division,” stated DeNeal. “We are delighted that he chose Southeastern to begin his collegiate studies and to compete for a national archery title in October.”
Butts plans to pursue a career in architectural design.
