Southeastern Illinois College is excited to announce a new Medical Assistant Certificate program beginning each August! This fast-track program gives you the hands-on skills and credentials you need to enter one of the nation’s fastest-growing healthcare careers.
In addition, SIC has revamped its Phlebotomy program into a full certificate and expanded the Pharmacy Technician program into Level 1 and Level 2 options to better serve both students and employers.

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Certificate:
SIC’s CNA program prepares you to provide compassionate bedside care in hospitals, nursing homes, and home health settings.
You’ll complete both classroom and clinical training and be eligible to take the Illinois CNA competency exam upon completion.
Job outlook: 4% projected job growth through 2033.
Medical Assistant Certificate:
Want to launch your career in one of the fastest-growing areas of healthcare? SIC’s Medical Assistant Certificate gives you the hands-on skills and credentials you need to work in clinics, doctor’s offices, and outpatient care.
You’ll learn to take vital signs, assist with lab work, manage scheduling, and support both patients and providers. This full-time program is limited to 15 students, so don’t wait to apply!
Job outlook: 15% projected job growth through 2033.
Pharmacy Technician Certificate:
Level I and Level II Options
Whether you're just starting out or ready to advance, SIC’s Pharmacy Technician Certificate offers stackable Level I and Level II options to help you succeed.
The full-time Level II program can be completed in one semester and combines flexible online learning with one evening class per week.
Job outlook: 7% projected job growth through 2033.
Phlebotomy Certificate:
SIC’s Phlebotomy Certificate is a one-semester hybrid program that prepares you to work directly with patients in hospitals, labs, and clinics.
You’ll start with in-class learning for the first eight weeks, then complete a local clinical internship to gain real-world experience.
Job outlook: 8% projected job growth through 2033.
